Child and Adolescent Mental Health and Addictions team seeks a full time Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist to work in the Cape Breton Area, based in Sydney.

Program details:  
•    Outpatient clinic for patients to age 18
•    Neurodevelopmental program
•    Autism Intervention Program
•    Intensive program that works with behaviour disorders and early psychosis
•    Dedicated clinicians in probation and in schools
•    Rural clinics are supported by consultation
•    Consultation to in-patient paediatric and psychiatric patients is provided

The Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist works in collaboration with the clinical teams, provides consultation to other physicians, participate in program development and in building capacity through education in the service and the community.  Psychiatrists participate in teaching through the family medicine residency program based in Sydney and/or with medical students through Dalhousie University. Remuneration for this position is paid via an hourly payment scheme with the Province of Nova Scotia, plus call stipends and other incentives as available through the Master Agreement of Nova Scotia.

The Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist should be a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (FRCPC) or eligible to take the Fellowship examination in Psychiatry within two years and is able to be credentialed to take the child and adolescent fellowship exam.  The candidate must also be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia.  Support is available for site visits and relocation.
