We have an opportunity for an individual who is comfortable practicing as a consultant in general pediatrics and sick neonates, to join four pediatricians and one neonatologist in Sydney, NS. This role is based out of the Cape Breton Regional Hospital which has a 20 bed pediatric ward and a 12 cot level 2 NICU, with over 900 deliveries per year. We are affiliated with the IWK Children’s Hospital (Halifax), which provides travelling sub-specialty clinics, telehealth grand rounds and an air transport program. Sydney boasts affordable homes, great schools (French, English and Montessori) Cape Breton University and a well-connected airport. All of which are close distance to the beautiful ocean and the Highlands of the Cabot Trail.  Physicians may also participate in teaching through the family medicine residency program based in Sydney and/or with medical students through Dalhousie University.

Remuneration is via Fee For Service, plus call stipends and other incentives as available through the Master Agreement of Nova Scotia. Support is available for site visits and relocation.

The pediatrician must be a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (FRCPC) or eligible to take the Fellowship examination in Pediatrics, and must be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia.
