We are looking for an anaesthetist in Kentville, Nova Scotia. Working hours will be shared equitably and commensurate with the needs of the department, call coverage averaging 1 in 8. The Valley Regional Hospital is a 137 inpatient bed facility with Anaesthesia practice including General Surgery, Urology, Ophthalmology, OMFS, ENT, Vascular Surgery, Obs/Gyn, Dentistry, Psychiatry, Orthopaedics, Periop Clinic, minor Paediatrics, a developing Regional Block program, and the possibility of covering the 8 bed level-2 ICU.  Pay structure is Fee-for-Service, and vacation time varies from 3-9 weeks per year, depending on the work desires of each Anaesthetist. Applicants should live within 20 minutes of hospital facilities, or make arrangements to stay during on-call obligations.

 

Applicants must be certified by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada to be considered for extension beyond 1 year.  Applicants also must maintain certification and competency with the practice of Anaesthesia, and be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia.

Support is available for a site visit and relocation.
