DEPARTMENT OF PSYCHIATRY, NOVA SCOTIA HEALTH AUTHORITY and DALHOUSIE UNIVERSITY Locum Tenens – General Medicine

The Department of Psychiatry, Dalhousie University and the Nova Scotia Authority has an excellent opportunity for a 2 month Locum Tenens for a full-time family physician (FP) to work on the general psychiatric units within the Mental Health Program. This is an immediate start with the possibility of extension and a permanent position.

The position would involve providing general medical care as a consultant to the multi-disciplinary teams which involve consumers in their own care. All aspects of the position would require the FP to work with multi-disciplinary teams in an enthusiastic manner with the capacity for self-direction.
The successful applicant will have the following qualifications:
 Medical degree and current registration with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia
 Excellent decision making and problem solving skills
 Ability to maintain clear records of patient evaluations
 Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships
 Must be eligible for medical staff privileges with the Nova Scotia Health Authority

Remuneration commensurate with qualifications and experience and is based upon a highly competitive Alternative Funding Plan.
