Excellent opportunity to join an established collaborative practice (2 FT MDs and 1 experienced NP) in the university town of Antigonish, Nova Scotia.   0.4- 1.0 FTE available, replacing 2 part time physicians.   Full EMR - Practimax.  Optional ER shifts, OR assists.  The start date can be flexible.

St. Martha’s Regional Hospital was founded in 1906 by the Congregation of the Sisters of St. Martha.  The hospital is an acute care facility providing a range of primary and secondary services through in-patient, outpatient, and satellite clinics.  With more than 60 physicians practicing in a variety of medical specialties and sub-specialties, St. Martha’s serves a population of nearly 40,000 from Antigonish, Guysborough, and surrounding communities.   

With approximately 90 beds for all in-patient care, hospitalist physicians at St. Martha’s are joined by our colleagues in family medicine, internal medicine (general and subspecialty, who cover our 6 bed ICU), emergency medicine, geriatrics, general surgery, psychiatry, pediatrics, obstetrics and gynecology, plastic surgery, ophthalmology, otolaryngology, anesthesia, radiology (U/S, CT, MRI, ECHO), palliative care and visiting oncology and neurology. Community based care is further supported by a men’s and women’s health centre, chronic pain clinic, methadone clinic, walk-in clinic, and youth clinic at the local high school. Physicians and all staff at St. Martha’s, both historically and today, take great pride in working to provide high quality care to our patients and  place strong value in collegiality in the workplace. We have the most active cross-specialty, accredited CME program in the province and host regular medical staff social events.

Interested candidates must be fully licensed or be eligible for full licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia.  Family Physicians must hold certification with the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CCFP).
