Yarmouth Regional Hospital's (YRH) is looking to add an additional physician to join the family medicine prenatal/OBS group. The group runs a shared prenatal clinic with nurse and clerical support, providing prenatal and obstetrical care for 300-350 women per year. The clinic runs six half-day clinics per week which are divided among the group. Call is shared equally (currently 1 in 5 with locum coverage for one weekend per month) and is self-scheduled at the monthly prenatal meeting. Remuneration is fee for service plus call stipend.
This is a highly collegial and pleasant group of physicians as well as excellent nursing staff. There is 24/7 obstetrician backup and anesthesia coverage, and part-time pediatric coverage. The more experienced members of the group are always available to assist in an emergency. The group teaches family medicine residents from the local residency program through Dalhousie University. There are many other opportunities in the community to build and shape a practice as desired.
