NSHA/IWK/Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology and Dalhousie University (Assistant Professor) is searching for a community General Obstetrician Gynaecologist. The successful candidate will report to the Site Chief of Surgery, Dartmouth General Hospital, NSHA; to the Division Head of Obstetrics; and Department Chair of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the IWK Health Centre.

This position will be primarily based at the Dartmouth General Hospital. Dartmouth General Hospital is an acute care hospital with 24-hour emergency, inpatient and outpatient, medical, surgical, and critical care that has been operating since 1976. Located in Dartmouth, it serves approximately 300,000 people each year from Dartmouth and Halifax Regional Municipality.

Academic rank will be Assistant Professor. Faculty members are expected to contribute to the university teaching programs. The successful candidate must assume responsibilities in quality assurance and hospital committee work.

Candidates should possess an FRCSC and have strong surgical and obstetrical skills. Preference will be given to applicants with experience and expertise in all clinical activities, in particular minimally invasive surgery, colposcopy, and lower genital tract disease. Candidates should also possess the following:

Certification by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (FRCSC)

Eligible for Licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia (CPSNS)

Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA)
