Cape Breton Regional Hospital (CBRH), in Sydney, NS, is seeking a locum General Surgeon.  The opportunity is available immediately.   The physician would assume the role of one of our surgeons who is on a six month leave of absence.  Responsibilities include inpatient and outpatient care, consultations with other physicians, surgical duties, endoscopy, and on-call duties.

CBRH is the regional referral and trauma center for Cape Breton Island.  It is a teaching hospital for the Faculty of Medicine of Dalhousie University in Halifax.  It is approximately a 200+ bed facility with a busy ICU.  The facility serves Cape Breton Regional Municipality and surrounding communities.

Existing staff and supports in our hospital include all diagnostic imaging and radiologist services, laboratory and pathology services, intensive care, obstetrics and gynecology, pediatrics, anesthesia, ophthalmology, cardiology, internal medicine, plastic surgery, ENT, urology, and orthopedics.

Candidates must be certified, or eligible for certification, by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia and satisfy the credentialing requirements of the Nova Scotia Health Authority. ( )
