Yarmouth Regional Hospital (YRH), a 100 bed facility, is seeking an obstetrician/gynecologist to join the team of three. The physician will provide low and high risk prenatal and obstetrical care, office and operative gynecology services, colposcopy as well as some diagnostic imaging services (hysterosalpingograms and biophysical profile ultrasounds). Call is 1:3. Physicians have an opportunity to work as a preceptor with medical students and residents as well. Compensation is currently through alternate payment plan. In addition, specialists receive call stipends and other incentives as available through the Master Agreement of Nova Scotia.

Dalhousie School of Nursing
chronic pain clinic
alternate level of care unit
cancer care centre
cardiac investigation and respiratory services
intensive care unit
mental health and addictions services
obstetrics and gynecology
• full scope of practice as an obstetrician/gynecologist providing care to the patients within the Western Zone
• participating in call
• provide support to your own site but also to others in the Western Zone if required, which will include day-time coverage and occasional overnight/weekend coverage
• responsible to the Zone Department Head for Obstetrics & Gynecologist for their professional responsibilities and quality of practice and will operate within the Medical Staff Bylaws of the Nova Scotia Health Authority
Candidates must be a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or eligible to take the Fellowship Exam. Must hold or be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia.
