About This Opportunity
The community of Sydney, Nova Scotia is seeking family medicine physicians to join their community of over 40 family physicians. Join a network of doctors in the second-largest municipality in Nova Scotia. In Sydney, opportunitity exists to work in a collaborative practice with existing staff and systems in place. Family physicians may participate in teaching through the family medicine residency program based in Sydney and/or with medical students through Dalhousie University.
- order diagnostic tests and laboratory procedures
- advise patients on health care, health promotion, and disease prevention
- consult and refer to other medical practitioners
- act as a patient advocate
- report births, deaths, and contagious and other diseases as per Nova Scotia Public Health requirements
- provide emergency department coverage on an on call schedule, if desired
- physician's choice: part-time or full-time
