About the Opportunity

Northern Zone; including Colchester East Hants Health Care Centre (CEHHC), Cumberland Mental and Addiction Services, and New Glasgow Community Health Centre; is seeking a full-time/part-time psychiatrists to join a cohesive team consisting of inpatient and community outpatient social workers, nurses, occupational therapists, recreation therapists, and psychologists. CEHHC houses the Mental Health Inpatient Unit as well as the following services:

  • addiction services
  • ambulatory care
  • anesthesia
  • cancer and supportive care
  • cardio respiratory
  • chronic pain services
  • diabetes education services
  • diagnostic imaging
  • dialysis unit
  • dietary and nutrition services
  • emergency medicine
  • hearing and speech
  • inpatient psychiatric unit
  • intensive care unit
  • laboratory services
  • medical units
  • mental health outpatient services
  • nutrition and diabetic counselling
  • obstetrics
  • palliative care
  • pharmacy
  • public health
  • rehabilitation services – inpatient and outpatient
  • respiratory therapy
  • spiritual care services
  • surgical unit
  • urology service
  • volunteer services

Responsibilities

  • provide 24/7 hospital and call support to inpatient mental health and emergency departments
  • contribute to and participate in teaching programs and activities
  • contribute to and participate in other administrative responsibilities as assigned
