About This Opportunity

Tantallon Community Medical Clinic is looking for a family medicine physician to join their collaborative group practice of 7 family physicians, a family practice nurse, and a urologist. The clinic is a community based health care centre providing access to primary care, walk-in medical care, as well as physician and allied health professional specialty services. This is a professionally managed clinic offering a supportive team environment, competitive overhead and flexible working hours. The compensation for this 0.8FTE part-time opportunity is alternative payment plan (APP) and the vacancy comes with an existing patient roster. There currently is an option to locum in this role

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Examine patients and take their histories, order diagnostic tests and laboratory procedures; advise patients on health care, health promotion, and disease prevention
  • Consultation and referral to other medical practitioners’
  • Act as a patient’s advocate
  • Prescribe and administer medications and treatments, inoculations and vaccinations
  • Report births, deaths, contagious and other diseases as per Nova Scotia Public Health requirements

Expected Hours

Part-time, 0.8FTE

Qualifications

Eligible for Licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia (CPSNS)

Eligible for certification with the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC)

Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA)
