About the Opportunity

Yarmouth Regional Hospital (YRH) is seeking two full-time anesthesiologists to join their team.

YRH was originally founded in 1912 and has developed into a vast health care complex serving the 58,000 people of Shelburne, Yarmouth, and Digby Counties. YRH has approximately 2,800 cases/year and 350 deliveries/year. The facility has two minimally invasive suites, a preadmission clinic, and up-to-date anesthesiology equipment including Omnicell anesthesia computerized systems. It has three general rooms where, on average, physicians run one to two rooms per day (8:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.) and the third room is used for emergencies and C-sections. 

Located in Yarmouth, YRH has 124 inpatient beds and provides a range of primary and secondary services through in-patient, outpatient, and satellite programs:

Responsibilities

  • work a full scope of practice as an anesthesiologist
  • participate in call shifts
  • provide support to your own site and to others in Western Zone if required, which includes day-time coverage and occasional overnight/weekend coverage.
  • be responsible to the Zone Department Head for Anesthesiology for their professional responsibilities and quality of practice
  • operate within the Medical Staff Bylaws of Nova Scotia Health Authority
