About This Opportunity
Dartmouth Medical Centre is seeking full-time Family Physicians to join their collaborative practice. This large group practice located in Dartmouth has beautiful views of the Halifax Harbour, and is composed of more than 9 physicians and offers rent subsidized suites. A busy walk-in clinic provides extra shifts for newcomers, if desired. The clinic uses the EMR system, Accuro Medical Software.
Depending on your professional interests, physicians may shape their practice to include: inpatient care, nursing home care, hospitalist work, ER coverage, surgical assists to name a few services available to participate.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Examine patients and take their histories, order diagnostic tests and laboratory procedures; advise patients on health care, health promotion, and disease prevention
- Consultation and referral to other medical practitioners’
- Act as a patient’s advocate
- Prescribe and administer medications and treatments, inoculations and vaccinations
- Report births, deaths, contagious and other diseases as per Nova Scotia Public Health requirements
