Born in Antigonish, Nova Scotia, Sarah-Marie returned home 15 years ago after working and traveling overseas with their spouse to raise their three children.

In 2001, Sarah-Marie received a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature and Studio Fine Arts from Saint Xavier Francis University. They are expected in graduate in April 2023 with a Master of Business Administration in Community Development from Cape Breton University.

Sarah-Marie said their favorite part of the role is meeting new people, helping them make connections, and find their way to a satisfying practice and life in our province.

“I love the land and the ocean, the pace of life, and the caring communities. Nova Scotia is a creative scene unlike anywhere else,” said Sarah-Marie, when asked why they love living in Nova Scotia.

In their spare time, Sarah-Marie enjoys improv, film and stage acting, and creative collaborations.
